About Mr. Edwards
I grew up in Wheaton, Illinois and attended Wheaton-Warrenville South High School. After graduation, I attended Eastern Illinois University where I met my wife, Brandi. Upon graduation, we settled in Pekin, Illinois where I taught English and Social Studies for twelve years. During this time, I taught every level of English except Speech. I also worked on two Masters degrees. My first degree was in Educational Leadership from St. Xavier University. My second degree was in Education Administration from Illinois State University. During this time, my wife and I had three children: a daughter, Kammie; a daughter, Emmie; and a son, Greysen. We also just added a member to our family— a Goldendoodle puppy named Hudson. In between kids and degrees, I found time to coach girls’ cross-country and girls’ track; and I continue to love being active by biking and running.
For the last five years I was Assistant Principal at Morton High School. My job duties varied, but a significant part of my day was building relationships with students and assigning consequences when policies were broken. I also had the opportunity to work on curriculum development, teacher evaluations, and school safety plans.
My family and I recently moved to Eureka and we are excited to be part of the community! This summer, we have been exploring the beautiful area of Eureka Lake, participating in the wonderful library summer reading program, and watching many softball/t-ball games. We are thankful to have already met so many friendly people. My goals for the year include learning the school culture that makes Eureka unique and building relationships with the students, staff, and community. Please know that if you ever have questions or concerns, I am only a phone call or email away!
